MHFA features in radical efficiency report
On the 21st July 2010, Poppy Jaman, National Director of MHFA England CIC, was part of a panel of senior leaders, innovators and policy makers to talk more about radical efficiency and its implications at a local and national level.
Radical efficiency describes innovations that deliver different, better and lower cost public services. The Innovations Unit and the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts (NESTA) have worked together since August 2009 to identify and understand international case studies of radical efficiency in frontline services such as health, education, regeneration and policing that have delivered savings in excess of 20% as outcomes improved. From this review of successful innovations, they have distilled common lessons for leaders of public services about how to 'do' radical efficiency. They also propose changes to the way government works that would enable different, better and lower cost public services to become the norm throughout the UK.
The report explored over 100 cases of radical efficiency in action across the globe. The report looks at 10 of these in more detail and MHFA is one of these. Please click here to download the full pdf report, or here for the text only version of the full report.
Sarah Gillinson, Head of the Radical Efficiency Innovation Unit, said "Thank you MHFA for your contribution to our launch last week. The turn out and response to the event has been excellent, with lots of people inspired by you and the other innovators featured. Many people were very interested in your comprehensive and compelling ideas of 'different, better, lower cost' of MHFA and I really look forward to hearing how your 'lower cost' evaluations turn out over time.'
